UofL WOMEN'S BASKETBALL | Cards blow out Pitt; seeded 2nd in ACC Tourney

The Louisville Women’s Basketball team is barreling into the post season full steam ahead. Sunday afternoon in the YUM Center, The Cards just destroyed Pitt 65-36, behind Myisha Hines-Allen’s double-double. The Sophomore put up a game high 25 points and 13 rebounds, while Briahanna Jackson finished with 12.

Louisville never trailed, jumping out to a 14-0 lead, and leading after the 1st quarter 27-6. The game was effectively over at that point. With the win, UofL finishes the regular season 24-6 overall, and 15-1 in the conference.

Louisville goes into this week’s ACC Tournament as the number two overall seed. That means the Cards get a double bye and don’t play their first game until Friday at 6pm ET. Should Louisville win, they would advance to Saturday’s Semifinals, slated to start at 2:30pm ET.

The 10th ranked Cards are in a good position to be one of the nation’s top 16 seeds. Top-16 teams play their first two NCAA Tourney games at home. In UofL’s case, if they won their first pair of games, they would probably advance to the regionals in Lexington.

CN|2 Sports will be following the Cards throughout the post season starting this week in Greensboro.
