cn|2’s Ryan Alessi caught up with UofL President James Ramsey at the State of the Commonwealth Address. Ramsey wouldn’t confirm the names of those who had been interviewed. But he said UofL has expressed interest in Colorado State Coach Jim McElwain, who was wrapping up his three-year stint as an assistant coach for the Cards when Ramsey was hired as UofL president in 2002.

Another coach on the short list includes Pat Narduzzi, Michigan State defensive coordinator. MSU alumnus and Kentucky State Sen. Damon Thayer said Ramsey confirmed to him that Narduzzi was among those being strongly considered.
