UofL HOOPS | Multiple preseason honors for Women's basketball team

The University of Louisville Women’s basketball team is just under a month from tipping off the season, but honors and accolades are already rolling in.

Freshman Asia Durr, the number one point guard of the 2015 class was named as preseason freshman of year by College Sports Madness. College Sports Madness also named sophomores Mariya Moore (second team) and Myisha Hines-Allen (third team) to the all-ACC teams.

Durr a native of Douglasville, GA is the highest rated recruit to sign with UofL Women’s basketball in the programs history.

Moore is coming off a summer in which she earned her second-consecutive gold medal with USA Basketball. Moore earned All-American honors from the Associated Press and Full Court after her 2014-15 season where she avraged 13.4 points per game. Moore started 33 of 34 games for the Cards last year.

Hines-Allen played in 34 games last season and averaged 11.8 points and 4.9 rebounds. Hines-Allen shot 55.8 percent from the field for the season, good enough for fourth in the ACC and 13th nationally, and led the Cardinals in the postseason, with 12.8 points per game.

Louisville opens the year on Nov. 15 at the KFC Yum! Center against 2013 Final Four foe California.
