UofL FOOTBALL | Running backs becoming the "studs" Petrino is referring to

08/09/2016 05:25 PM

Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino has a popular slogan when deciding who gets the ball on game day. He has adopted the motto of “feed the studs,” which refers to the guys with the hot-hand, or the player dominating the game. Last year, the “stud” was often quarterback Lamar Jackson who amassed over 1,000 yards rushing. But with an increased focus on Jackson passing the ball, the Cardinal running backs intend to take over the role and dominate the run-game.

Brandon Radcliff, LJ Scott, and Jeremy Smith all started at least one game at tailback in 2015, and they are all competing in fall camp to get even more starts in 2016.
