UofL FOOTBALL | Making coaching changes right before spring drills start
03/16/2016 06:30 AM
UofL starts spring football drills next week, but the Cardinal coaches, who take the practice field on Tuesday, will have a different look than last year’s version. Gone are offensive Coordinator Garrick McGee (to Illinois), safety coach Greg Brown (to Missouri), wide receivers coach Lamar Thomas (to Kentucky) and cornerbacks coach Terrell Buckley (to Miss State).
New to the Cardinals is co-offensive coordinator Lonnie Galloway (from West Virginia), while offensive line coach Chris Klenakis has also been promoted to co-offensive coordinator. Nick Petrino has gone from coaching the Louisville wide outs to the quarterbacks.
Galloway’s coaching has helped many West Virginia players succeed in the NFL. He is also considered an excellent recruiter.
We chatted with longtime UofL reporter Howie Lindsey to get his opinion on the state of the Cardinals.
