UofL FOOTBALL | Bonnafon Going from QB to RB
10/20/2015 06:30 AM
Last year Reggie Bonnafon mostly played quarterback for the Louisville Cardinals. Last weekend, the action Bonnafon saw was out of the backfield, but as a running back not a QB.
Bonnafon was one of four players who ran the ball in the 41-21 loss at FSU, and his stats were not bad, three carries for 20 yards, an average of better than six yards per carry. Bonnafon also caught three passes for 31 yards, so combined he contributed 51 yards of offense.
Bonnafon sounds like he’d like to still play quarterback, but freshman Lamar Jackson, 307 yards passing with three touchdowns, and 59 yards rushing against the Seminoles, pretty much has the starting spot locked up. So Bonnafon knows being versatile both on the field, and with his attitude, will probably get the sophomore more playing time in the weeks to come.
