Michigan State Senior Denzel Valentine had a game high 25 points, as the number 24 Cardinals let the 3rd ranked Spartans make up a 13 point deficit. Michigan State beats Louisville 71-67.

The Cards jumped out to a big first half lead, but as has happened much of the season, several players got into foul trouble. Tonight, it was Center Chinanu Onuaku and Guard Quentin Snider who both played portions of the second half with four fouls each.

Another key stat was three point shooting. The Cards could only convert four of 17 long range jumpers, while Michigan State sank 9 of 23 from behind the arc. UofL was led by their 5th year graduate guards. Damion Lee had a team high 23 while Trey Lewis put in 21. Bryn Forbes added 20 for MSU.

With the loss, Louisville falls to 5-1 on the season. Louisville hosts Grand Canyon Saturday at noon in the YUM Center. Michigan State improves to 8-0 and hosts Binghamton Saturday afternoon.
