UofL BASKETBALL | Cards blow out Terriers but still must improve

One glance at the halftime score would tell you everything you needed to know, Louisville leading St. Francis Brooklyn 43-24 at the break. However, upon closer inspection you’d see UofL made just 2 of 8 free throws, and not getting the amount of blocks Coach Rick Pitino demands. (UofL finished with just five blocks.)
Second half was more of the same. UofL runs of 11-0 and 9-0 blows the game wide open as Louisville ultimately destroys STFB by 44 points, 85-41, Damion Lee finished with a game high 21 points, while Ray Spalding had 12 and Donovan Mitchell finished with 11. Yet again, a look past the statistics would show a UofL team in need of upping their game.
For the most part, the players seemed to agree with the coaches, especially with the Cards next two games on the road, against Saint Louis in Brooklyn, and then at third ranked Michigan State. Here’s Jaylen Johnson:
The win improves Louisville to 4-0 on the season while the terriers fall to 1-2.
