UofL BASKETBALL | Bracketology Has Cards as 4 Seed in Tournament
06/01/2016 04:55 PM
ESPN analyst Joe Lunardi has released his way to early Bracketology and he has the Louisville Cardinals checking in with a 4 seed and headed to Orlando for a first round match up with Valparaiso.
In all, Lunardi has 9 ACC teams making the tournament. Which would be the second most bids any one conference has received in the history of the NCAA Tournament. The Big East had 11 bids in 2011.
On the other side of the spectrum Lunardi does not think very highly of the SEC at the moment. He has two teams, Kentucky and Vanderbilt, making the field.
In comparing Lunardi’s bracket from August of 2015 to the actual NCAA Tournament field there were 27 teams on the August bracket that did not make the big dance and several teams that were either over or under valued. Xavier was an August 9 seed that became a 2 seed in March. Oregon started the summer as a 10 seed that was a 1 seed in the Big Dance
We can expect to see at least one more updated bracket this summer so Louisville has plenty of time to work their way into a one seed for the NCAA Tournament before they play their first game in November.
