UofL BASEBALL | Playing with MAJOR expectations

The Louisville Baseball team officially starts team practices later today at 2 p.m. ET. And when they take the field, they’ll know big things are expected of them, not just from the coaches, but from college baseball experts near and far.

Five different pre-season polls have the Cardinals ranked second, behind only the Florida Gators. And yet, as Dan McDonnell tells us, it is one thing to be given a lofty ranking, it is another thing entirely to earn it.

It is part of what we discussed with the longtime Cards head coach. McDonnell says what he expects from his team, how the disappointment from last season’s Super Regionals could motivate this year’s squad, and also how excited he is about Friday night’s Lead-off Dinner with special guest, slugger Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays.
