UofL BASEBALL | Louisville makes fourth straight Super Regional

The University of Louisville baseball team earned a fourth consecutive trip to the Super Regional round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday after beating Wright State 3-1 in the Louisville regional final.

ACC Pitcher of the Year, Drew Harrington was on the mound for Louisville. The Junior lefty pitched over seven scoreless innings, striking out five batters and giving up five hits. Zack Burdi finished the game on the mound, allowing one run, but sealing the Cards’ 50th win of the season.

Nick Solak was Louisville’s saving grace at the plate. The junior second baseman batted in all three of U of L’s RBIs with a two-run homer in the fourth inning, and an RBI single in the fifth. Solak finished the game 3-for-4 from the plate. The only other Cardinal with more than one hit was junior catcher Will Smith who finished the night 3-for-5.

Louisville now waits for the winner of the Nashville regional which will be determined on Monday night. U of L is now 50-12 on the season, and are prepared to host their third Super-Regional in four years.
