UofL BASEBALL | Cards Fall To Virginia in ACC Tournament

05/28/2016 10:31 PM

Louisville baseball lost their second game in two days as the Cardinals gave up 7 runs in the fifth inning en route to a 7-2 loss in their final game of the ACC Tournament.

Junior Drew Harrington got the start for UofL and was cruising along until the start of the 5th inning when the Virginia bats chased the righty with seven straight hits. The Cavalier would crank out 7 runs in the inning which would prove to be more than enough for the win.

Florida State will face Clemson Sunday morning at 10a to decide the ACC Tournament Championship.

The Cards, who before the start of the ACC Tournament were playing like a well-oiled machine, have struggled with their pitching and now look a little different from the team that finished the regular season on a 9 game win streak.

Whats Next For Louisville?
Now The Cardinals will play the waiting game until the regional sites are announced Sunday evening. Louisville is expected to host the regional games which start next weekend and will, most likely, play host to the super regionals the following weekend should they advance.

Monday afternoon the NCAA will announce the regional pairings.

Watch CN|2 Sports Monday at 6:30pm as we will discuss the tournament pairings and have reactions from Coach Dan McDonnell and team.
