UofL BASEBALL| Cards beat the Wolfpack in the first of a three game series

No. 5 UofL baseball won the opener of its final regular season home series Friday night. No. 10 NC State slipped behind 1-0 in the first inning, thanks to a solo home run from Cardinal Nick Solak.

Louisville (40-10, 17-8 ACC) scored again in the seventh inning on an RBI single from Logan Taylor. UofL pitcher Brendan McKay kept the Wolfpack to just three hits on the night. Devin Hairston got two of the Cards’ seven hits.

NC State (32-15, 13-10 ACC) gets another chance against the Cards in the second of the three game series. That’s tomorrow at 1pm at Jim Patterson Stadium. Both teams play again Sunday at 1pm.
