The UofL baseball team is embarking on a three-game series that will determine the Big East Conference regular season champion. The 10th ranked Cards kicked off their first game against the 16th ranked Pittsburgh Panthers Thursday night at Jim Patterson Stadium. The Cards went into the game riding a season-high 13-game winning streak. Coach Dan McDonnell says he’s not thinking about a sweep, he just wants his team to play good baseball.

UofL is led in hitting by Ty Young with a 374-batting average, and has six players batting 325 or better. A conference championship and success in the Big East tournament could bring another regional to Louisville, and possibly even another super regional. McDonnell says he doesn’t want his team thinking about what may lie ahead, just focus on having fun during the last home series of the season.
