UofL finally won a game in Puerto Rico, doing it in dramatic fashion. Trey Lewis hit a baseline jumper in the final 30 seconds to give the Cardinals the 82-81 lead. Then the other fifth year senior Damion Lee, scored UofL’s final points, as the Cards finally beat the Puerto Rico National team, 84-81. Louisville is now 1-5 in their six games on the Island.
Louisville came back from a 13 point, 4th quarter deficit. Trey Lewis wound up with 21 points and seven rebounds, Mangok Mathiang finished with 19 points and 8 rebounds, while Lee had 16 points and 6 boards.
Despite the win, Head Coach Rick Pitino was not happy, saying the Cards looked sloppy. The same two clubs meet Saturday in a single game, before finally getting a day off on Sunday.
