Undefeated Marshall looms large in WKU season finale

Midway through the college football season, Western Kentucky sat at 3-5 and the season appeared to be spiraling downward. Fast forward a couple weeks, and the Toppers are on a three-game winning steak heading into the regular season finale.

At 6-5, WKU is already bowl eligible, so in a sense the season is already a success. But this weekend when the team travels to Marshall, they have a chance to go out with a bang. The Thundering Herd are a perfect 11-0 on the season and are looking to finish unbeaten.

A win would be a signature victory for Jeff Brohm in his first season as Western’s head coach, and it would also likely boost the Hilltoppers to a better bowl destination.
