UK Wins 8th National Title

John Calipari captured his first National Championship, as the Kentucky Wildcats defeated the Kansas Jayhawks, 67 to 59. The Cats led by double-digits for more than 25 minutes of the game before Kansas went on run at the five minute mark in the second half and cut the Cats’ lead to as low as six. But thanks to some solid defensive stops and some clutch free throws in the final minutes, they brought home their 8th national championship.

What is there to say except the BEST team won, which oftentimes is not the case. This team was not to be denied. What a wonderful and humble bunch of young men. I love them all and am so proud of them. I wish they never had to leave. I only have one thing to say to Coach Cal: I’m looking forward to number 9 next year. Thank you for a terrific season. GO CATS!
