Donald Brooks had 193 total yards, and scored five touchdowns both on the ground and through the air, as Trinity blows out Dixie Heights 47-14 in the KHSAA Class 6-A Championship. The Shamrocks only went 5-5 in the regular season, but they got hot at the right time, sweeping through the playoffs. Senior quarterback Ryan Young was named the game’s MVP. He completed 15 of 19 passes for 309 yards and three touchdowns. Trinity wins its 23rd championship, tying the Shamrocks with Highlands for the most football championships for one school. The Bluebirds rallied earlier on Saturday to beat Owensboro 49-42 in the Class 4-A Finale.
