Cards not surprised by Manhattan match-up, moving on

Following the Cards’ second round victory against Manhattan, Head Coach Rick Pitino said he wasn’t surprised by the thriller. Pitino called the Jaspers a mirror image of the Cards during practice and said the challenging game was exactly what they needed to become a better basketball team.

Saving the night with his late-game three-pointers, a humble Luke Hancock told reporters he was just playing ball. And senior guard Russ Smith added it’s not in the Cards’ nature to lay down and take a beating.
