Teddy Bridgewater to return for Louisville for a big honor

Former UofL football player and quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings Teddy Bridgewater will be the Grand Marshal for this year’s Pegasus Parade. The festivities will wind down Broadway in Downtown Louisville Thursday April 30th.

This year’s theme is “Best of Louisville” and even though Bridgewater is a native of Miami, he had so many successes at UofL that make him the perfect fit for the honor.

Bridgewater was a quarterback for the Cardinals from 2011 to 2013. During that time he was named Freshman All-American, Big East Offensive Player of the Year and in his last season he was named MVP of the Russell Athletic Bowl.

He was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft and he went on to be named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year in his first season.

Bridgewater will be in good company. Past Pegasus Parade Grand Marshals include Congressional Medal of Honor winners, Cyndi Lauper and the entire UofL men’s and women’s basketball teams.
