Taking Care of Business UofL Style

Things could not have been more perfect for Louisville Saturday night. The Cards played a lot of different players, everyone escaped relatively healthy, and, oh yeah, UofL never trailed. Freshman Quarterback Reggie Bonnafon ran for 2 touchdowns, and threw for a third as the Cards steamrolled undermanned Murray State 66-21.

Bonnafon did not see his first action until the second quarter. By then Louisville had built a 28-7 lead thanks to a pair of touchdown tosses by first string QB Will Gardner (to Kai De La Cruz and Gerald Christian) and a touchdown by Freshman runner LJ Scott, who finished with a game high 132 yards rushing.

With the win Louisville improves to 2-0 on the season while Murray State falls to 1-1. Next weekend the Cardinals pack their bags for their first ACC road game, playing at a 1-1 Virginia team that defeated Richmond 45-13. This coming Saturday’s game kicks off at 12:30pm ET.
