Taggart, WKU Ready To Move On To Rivalry Game With MTSU

After falling short of a win against Arkansas State (26-22) over the weekend, the Toppers have to regroup fast before their game against rival Middle Tennessee State on Thursday. Following two blow outs from previous games, Head Coach Willie Taggart says the team played hard against the Red Wolves and is only getting stronger.

Taggart says the short week of preparation means the team doesn’t have time to dwell on their mistakes against Arkansas State. Senior defensive back Ryan Beard agrees, saying the disappointing loss last weekend didn’t affect their attitudes during practice.

Sophomore fullback Kadeem Jones says Arkansas State showed the team is a work in progress and players have faith they will only improve with time. He looks forward to building upon his role in the offense.

The Toppers face off against Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro at 6:30 pm CST on ESPNU.
