Steve Masiello is headed to South Florida

Just days after putting a scare into his former team, the Louisville Cardinals, Manhattan Jaspers head coach Steve Masiello has accepted the job at South Florida.

In just his third season at Manhattan, Masiello got the Jaspers into the NCAA Tournament by winning the MAAC Tournament. Playing in the Round of 64 Manhattan pushed the Cards to the brink before bowing out 71-64.

Masiello replaces Stan Heath who was let go following a disastrous 12-20 season, including a 3-15 record in the AAC. The payday for Masiello is sizable. A little over $1 million a year for five years.
