St. X shakes up the KY high school football landscape

By upsetting Trinity last Friday, St. X shook up the high school football landscape in Kentucky. The Shamrocks were widely regarded as one of the state’s top teams, but most of their competition had been against out of state opponents.

Once the Tigers won the rivalry game, the hierarchy of teams had to be reshuffled. If Trinity is a top five team, then St. X has to be. But St. X lost to Bowling Green, so the Purples deserve another look.

All of this fallout came from one game, and the next few weeks will be more of the same. St X. plays at Male, Trinity travels to Manual and a number of other high-profile games fill this week’s high school football slate.
