Sources: Behanan To Enter Rehab Facility, NBA Draft

01/02/2014 11:38 AM

News broke Thursday morning that Louisville has granted Chane Behanan his release, allowing him to transfer to any schools outside of the ACC or the AAC. But sources tell KSTV that Behanan will not transfer to another school and instead will enroll at a well-known rehab facility run by former NBA player and coach John Lucas before entering the NBA Draft.

Behanan, who was dismissed by Louisville earlier this week, will enroll in Lucas’ “Athletes After Care” program, which has become a stop for a handful of high-profile athletes looking to deal with a variety of issues. Most notably, LSU football star Tyrann Mathieu spent time with Lucas in Houston before being selected by the Arizona Cardinals. NBA player Michael Beasley and former UK coach Billy Gillispie have also been patients.

Following treatment, Behanan is expected to put his name into the NBA Draft. Prior to his dismissal from UofL, he was not listed in’s 2014 or 2015 mock drafts.
