Russ Smith, Montrezl Harrell On Fire In Louisville Win
03/05/2014 08:39 PM
Russ Smith was playing so well he made himself sick. Actually that was probably dehydration from the stomach bug, but still, the senior guard was perfect from behind the arc sinking six three-pointers. Montrezl Harrell added 19 points, two of which came off a reverse alley-oop that silenced the SMU crowd. No. 11 UofL dominated the second half and won 84-71.
The No. 18 Mustangs started the game strong building a 14-point lead, but Louisville finished the first half with a 15-0 run and went into halftime with a two-point lead. That’s when Smith turned up the heat. After scoring just four points in the first half, Smith went on a scoring spree from well beyond the three-point line and ended the game with 26 points. Chris Jones scored 21 points and had 6 steals against SMU.
Louisville comes back home this weekend to finish out the regular season against No. 19 UConn. The game tips off at 2 p.m. ET. Before the game, UofL will honor its seniors, Russ Smith, Luke Hancock, Tim Henderson and Stephan Van Treese.
