Rule change to NCAA Basketball tournament might have stemmed from Louisville

The NCAA is making a minor change to the to tournament field. Effective the upcoming season, the number one overall seed in the championship tournament will be able to choose their location in their first two games based on the predetermined host sites.

Preferences of the teams in contention for the No. 1 overall seed will be communicated to the NCAA in advance of selection Sunday, meaning whichever team earns the top spot will only know where they are playing, not who they are playing.

The interesting part of this related to the Commonwealth is this decision could easily be tied to an issue from last years tournament that involved Kansas playing their opening rounds in Louisville instead of Chicago because of a marginal difference in distance from Kansas.
