Rick Pitino on UofL's Overtime Win Over Vanderbilt

Louisville’s overtime victory over Vanderbilt vaulted the Cardinals into the top five. The 7-0 Cards moved up to fourth in the coaches poll and fifth in the AP balloting.
The Commodores fell to the Cards in overtime 62-60 Friday night at the KFC YUM! Center. And even when Vanderbilt led by nine midway through the second half and six in overtime, coach Rick Pitino says he never felt a sense of panic.
UofL got the winning basket when Peyton Siva sliced through the Vandy defense for a game-winning layup with 1.4 seconds. Pitino says he called the play for Siva and trusted him to get a shot or find an open teammate. But Pitino also says that Siva needs to be a bit more aggresive on the floor.
Pitino also says he’s looking forward to some of his injured players returning to the game. Right now Louisville is missing Rakeem Buckles, Stephan Van Treese, Mike Marra, Wayne Blackshear and Elisha Justice. Pitino also admits, when those players return, he will face a whole new challenge.
UofL returns to action Wednesday at home against I-U-P-U-I.
