PREAKNESS PREVIEW | Sloppy conditions in the forecast
05/21/2016 07:46 AM
Post time for the 141st Preakness Stakes is set for 6:45 p.m. ET on Saturday and the forecast is shaping up for sloppy conditions.
The 3-5 morning line favorite Nyquist is undefeated heading into Saturday’s race with eight straight wins behind him. But with the Triple Crown going to American Pharoah just one year ago — the first time since 1978, the bar has been set high. Trainer Doug O’Neill isn’t worried though, telling reporters at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore that his horse is “as good as ever” despite a shorter turnaround than the five weeks the Kentucky Derby winner experienced coming out of the Florida Derby.
