NFL DRAFT | James Burgess' intangibles make him intriguing draft prospect

He is not a proven brick wall when it comes to run defense, he is slightly undersized by NFL standards, but James Burgess has certain measurables and even more intangibles that make him an intriguing draft prospect. As a star linebacker and three year starter for the University of Louisville, Burgess was one of the top three tacklers on the team in both his junior and senior year. He has proven quickness which allows for excellent pursuit of ball carriers, and has shown his ability to read quarterbacks and defend in the pass game.
Even as a standout for U of L, Burgess is a wild card when it comes to this weekend’s NFL draft. He is currently projected as an undrafted free agent by NFL.com, but he says he has heard rumors of being a middle round pick. Only time will tell, but we had Jason Anderson from ESPN 680 on our show to talk more about Burgess’ potential in the NFL.
