Nate Northington: In His Own Words

In 1966, Nate (Nat) Northington was one of the first two African Americans who signed to play football at the University of Kentucky. A year later, Northington became the first African American to play in an SEC football game. After the death of his roommate and teammate, Greg Page, Northington transferred to Western Kentucky. Over the years, Northington has remained relunctant to give an interview on his UK experience …until now. Chip Cosby sat with down with Nate to talk about his friend’s death, playing in the SEC during the tumultuous ’60s, and his own legacy.
