While quarterback Teddy Bridgewater continues to watch, wait, and wonder if he will get taken before the first round is over, a second Louisville Cardinal is off the board.
With the 26th overall pick, the Philadelphia Eagles have chosen linebacker Marcus Smith. This is the first time the Cardinals have had two players taken in the first round in the same year. Earlier, with the 18th overall pick, the N.Y. Jets chose Louisville safety Calvin Pryor.

Marcus Smith is one of the most versatile players in the entire draft. He played quarterback in high school. At UofL, the 6’3” 251 pounder was switched to defense and has lined up at both defensive end and outside linebacker. He had 42 tackles on the season and 14.5 sacks. For his efforts, Marcus Smith was named the AAC Defensive Player of the Year.
