It wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t pretty. Against one of the worst teams in the ACC, Louisville had to once again struggle, claw, and rally. However in the end, the 17th ranked Cardinals completed their comeback by beating Georgia Tech 52-51. The win improves UofL to 22-6, 10-5 in the ACC while the Yellow Jackets slip to 12-16, 3-13 in the conference.
Tech led for almost the entire game, but the Cards finally flipped a switch. Down 41-28 in the second half, Louisville outscored Tech 24-10 over the final 9:41. Terry Rozier had a game high 22 points, while Wayne Blackshear added 10 and Montrezl Harrell had 8 points and 8 rebounds. DeMarco Cox had 11 points and 11 boards for the Jackets.
Shaqquan Aaron started the game in Chris Jones’ spot, although fellow freshman Quentin Snider played the bulk of the minutes. Combined Aaron and Snider totaled 8 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Speaking of Jones, the former guard who was dismissed from the team yesterday, allegedly sent a threatening text to a female student. This, according to a University of Louisville campus police report. Here is the full story:
Louisville now gets some down-time. The Cards are off until Saturday’s noon game at Florida State.
