Florida State jumped out to a huge 24 point first half lead, and the Cardinals were never able to recover, as FSU eliminates UofL in the semifinals of the ACC Women’s Tournament 66-51. The Cards were able to go on a run in the second half, and cut the Seminoles lead down to 2, 45-43, but Louisville could get no closer as Florida State pulled away in the end. With the loss, Louisville falls to 25-6 overall, 12-4 in the ACC. FSU improves to 29-3, and 14-2. The Noles will meet Notre Dame Sunday for the ACC Tournament championship.
Freshman Mariya Moore led UofL with 17 points. Despite the loss, Louisville is safely in the NCAA Women’s tournament. The Cards now await the women’s NCAA selection show to see where they will be seeded, who they will take on, and when they will play.
