Louisville Defeats South Florida 86-47

The Cardinals dismantled the South Florida Bulls to the tune of a 39-point victory, and South Florida never really challenged Louisville as the Cards went on to win easily 86-47. This game was all about the front court. Junior forward Wayne Blackshear came off the bench to lead the team in scoring with 16 points. Head coach Rick Pitino made the call to bring Blackshear off the bench a week ago, and in the three games since, Blackshear has led the team in scoring twice. Sophomore forward Montrezl Harrell is hitting his stride for the Cards. He got his fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, four of them coming in the last five games. The back court wasn’t slacking off either. Senior Russ Smith and freshman Terry Rozier combined for 21 points, 11 assists and 4 steals.
UofL will enjoy a nice long break. The Cards don’t play again until next Thursday at home against No. 15 Cincinnati.
