Louisville City FC has big game tomorrow night. They take on the MLS’s Orlando City SC at 7:30 in an exhibition game.
Orlando is in their inaugural season in the MLS, but they have already added some big names to their roster. Ricardo Kaka is a Brazilian national who had a very successful career in the UEFA Champions League, earning a Series A title with A.C. Milan before heading to the MLS. Kaka was also named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2007. However, the 33 year old attacking midfielder did not make the trip to Louisville after Orlando’s loss to Toronto FC Saturday evening 5-0.
Kaka is teammates with Brek Shea who plays Left back for Orlando City. Shea is also a member of the US Men’s National Soccer Team and spent time in the English Premier League with Stoke City and a couple other clubs on loan before returning to the US to play in the MLS. Despite making the trip, Brek will be sidelined tomorrow night.
At Orlando City’s open practice today at Louisville Slugger Field, Louisville City Goalkeeper Scott Goodwin said it’s exciting to play in these kinds of games against great competition. He also said his team plans on putting up more than a good fight, their goal is to put up a W.
