Louisville advances into the winners bracket

A rain delay is never fun, unless your team comes out on top. Well, it was worth the wait for the Louisville Cardinals.
A baseball game originally scheduled for 6 pm, did not start until after 9 because of rain delays, and did not finish until after midnight. But to UofL fans it was memorable. Louisville shuts out Kent State 5-0 as sophomore Kyle Funkhouser shows why he is the ace of the staff.
The righty scatters 5 hits through 8 innings, at one point retiring 15 in a row. Funkhouser picks up his 13th win in 15 decisions.
UofL does all its scoring in the first three innings, getting two in the first, one more in the second and two in the third.
With the win the Cards advance into the winners bracket game, and will meet Kansas Saturday at 5pm eastern.
Kent State takes on Kentucky Saturday at 1, with the loser of that game done for the season. Earlier in the day the Jayhawks surprised UK 10-6.
