Louisville City FC’s inaugural season is guaranteed one more game, with hope for a second and a chance to host the USL Championship game. City heads to Rochester this Saturday to take on the USL Eastern Conference’s top team, the Rhinos.

It’s a matchup of the top USL defense versus the top USL offense. Rochester has only lost one game this season, and only allowed 15 goals in total. If their is any team that can find the back of net against the Rhinos, it’s Louisville. Louisville is scoring an average of 1.96 goals a game, and are the home team of the USL top goal scorer, Matt Fondy, and USL assist leader Bryan Burke.

Fondy scored the go-ahead goal in Louisville’s recent win over the Charleston Battery. It came off a corner kick (another category in which Louisville lead the USL) in the 105th minute from Louisville City midfielder Aodhan Quinn. Cn|2 Sports talked one on one with Aodhan about the emotional win, and why the challenges presented by Rochester are just one more speed bump on City’s road to a USL championship.

WIth a win ove Rochester, Louisville City FC will earn hosting duties for the USL Championship game. They will play the winner of the Western conference matchup between the Oklahoma City Energy and LA Galaxy II.

This Saturdays game is scheduled to kick off at 7:05.
