An eight-year-old Kentucky boy is among one dozen teens from across the country who are living out a dream in Phoenix, courtesy of Make-A-Wish®.
Shanon is battling leukemia and was chosen by the organization to see his wish come true during a weekend of Super Bowl festivities in Arizona. The trip included a tour of University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale and seats to the big game.
“For Shanon and the other wish kids, the trip to Phoenix for the Super Bowl represents
their most heartfelt wish coming true, which can have a profound impact,” said
Jennifer Greener, Wish Program Manager of Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana.
“These wishes have the ability to serve as a turning point for the wish kids, potentially
influencing their ability to cope with, confront and overcome their medical challenges.”
Since 2004, more than 130 Super Bowl wishes have been granted.
