HS Basketball| Indiana boys and girls All Star Teams sweep Kentucky
06/13/2016 05:19 PM
The annual Indiana All Starts took on the Kentucky all stars at Bellarmine’s Knights Hall Sunday. The Indiana girls controlled the game right from the start. The Hoosier State’s Miss Basketball, Jackie Young scored the game high 22 points, while her Kentucky counterpart Erin Boley scored just 2 points in her ten minutes of play.
This will be the last time the two play each other for a while because they’re both headed to Notre Dame as teammates this fall. Whitney Creech lead the Kentucky scorers with 15 points, but the Indiana girls team beat Kentucky 81-62. After the game both coaches talked about their teams.
The Indiana boys continued momentum, beating the Kentucky boys 99-96. Indiana built up a 19-point lead and that was just enough to hold off a late Kentucky rally. With just under eight minutes in the game, the Kentucky boys team went on a 15-2 run but it wasn’t enough to win. Indiana’s Eugene German lead all scorers with 34 points. Kentucky was led by Mason Faulkner with 21 points and Kentucky Mr. Basketball Carson Williams finished with 19 points and a game high 9 rebounds.
