How the addition of Trey Lewis helps UofL
04/09/2015 07:30 AM
The addition of Trey Lewis, a 5th year transfer senior from Cleveland State, comes at an opportune time for Louisville. The Cardinals are short guards, what with Terry Rozier leaving for the NBA, and Anton Gill and Shaqquan Aaron transferring out. Donovan Mitchell is a highly touted incoming freshman, but there is usually a transition period when players adjust to college life.
Lewis is a 6-2, 190 pound senior from Garfield Heights, Ohio. He led the Vikings in scoring, averaging 16.3 points a game, along with 2.9 assists, and 1.2 steals. He also hit 96 three pointers, a single season Cleveland State record.
Lewis has 1 year of eligibility left, and because he is enrolling in graduate school at UofL, he will be eligible to play immediately. Look for Lewis to also play some point guard, giving a break to rising sophomore Quentin Snider.
