Hilltoppers Enjoying a Five Game Winning Streak

Riding its longest winning streak since 2004, the Hilltoppers face their toughest test to date as they visit top-ranked LSU Saturday in Baton Rouge. Both WKU and LSU are coming off dramatic, last-second wins. But Western coach Willie Taggart says he isn’t letting his guard done, and is even making jokes about his competition.

Taggart says he may even consider letting his starters rest this weekend instead of taking the field.

Regardless of the outcome, Taggart says Saturday’s game, which will be carried on ESPNU, is a huge opportunity for his team.

Saturday’s game marks the first-ever meeting between WKU and LSU, but it is not the first time a Hilltopper team has played in Tiger Stadium. WKU defeated New Hampshire 14-3 in that stadium to win the Grantland Rice Bowl back in 1975.
