Rick Pitino says he will not be traveling to Baltimore this weekend to watch Goldencents run in the Preakness, but his brother Richard may be making the trip.
Goldencents is coming off a very disappointing 17th-place finish at the Derby, finishing nearly 50 lengths behind winner Orb. Trainer Doug O’Neill says he’s been trying to acclimate Goldencents to the track. Kevin Krigger will once again mount Goldencents, making him the first African-American to ride in the Preakness since Wayne Barnett in 1985.
