Former Eastern Kentucky basketball player and superstar dunker Marcus Lewis has been drafted on Tuesday to play for the Harlem Globetrotters.

The Globetrotters found a niche in pro ball by composing teams of outstanding athletes with a flair for entertainment. Lewis, a 6’4” guard who averaged 9.8 points and 1.6 steals per game his senior season, earned bragging rights as the winner of the 2014 Denny’s College Slam Dunk Championship .

Lewis is among six athletes drafted to the Globetrotters, including former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. He will attend a mini-camp in August where he’ll tryout for a spot in the team’s training camp this fall. The Globetrotters’ domestic tour begins December 26 and runs through April.
