Former Bat Billy Hamilton Stealing The Spotlight in Cincy

Billy Hamilton is known for his prowess on the basepaths. He stole a minor league record 155 in 2012 as he split time between A and AA ball in the Reds organization. Last season in Louisville Hamilton swiped another 75 bags before being called up in September. Once he got to the bigs he led the majors in stolen bases in the month of September swiping 13 straight before being thrown out on the last day of the season.

In Cincinnati, Run Billy Run tshirts are hot sellers as fans are clamoring for more of what they got in September but Hamilton knows that if he expects to make the Reds opening day roster that his speed wont matter if he cant get on base. So this past off season was spent in Puerto Rico with Reds Double A manager Delino Deshields working on one thing. Bunting.

Hamilton can already tell a difference in his ability to get down a good bunt and believes that if he gets them down correctly he is a lock to get on base. And from there…its off to the races.
