EKU Colonels go 1-3 in Australia

The Eastern Kentucky men’s basketball team will head home to the Commonwealth this weekend after wrapping up a four-game trip to Australia.

The Colonels lost their final game, 77-75, on Wednesday to the Cairns Taipans, a professional team in Australia’s National Basketball League. EKU fought hard, tying the game 60-60 in the fourth quarter. But a late-game run for the Taipans and a pair of free throws clinched the Aussie win.

The Colonels end the trip down under 1-3. They will begin their 32-hour trip back to Richmond on Saturday morning.
