DeVante Parker Sidelined by Foot Surgery

Former UofL standout DeVante Parker was having a great summer with the Miami Dolphins. The first round draft pick was lauded for his athletic ability and plucking passes out of the air with ease.
That is something he may not be doing for some time after undergoing surgery on his left foot. Parker missed nearly half of his final season with the Cards after breaking a bone in the foot just days before Louisville’s season opener against Miami.
According to multiple reports, this surgery is a precautionary measure to replace a screw inserted in Parker’s foot from his initial surgery last fall. The Dolphins say Parker could have played through the injury if needed, but he along with his the organization, his family and agent decided that it was best to take care of the issue now.
Parker is expected to begin training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform or PUP List, but is hopeful to be ready for the Dolphins opener against the Washington Redskins on September 13th.
