DeVante Parker and Michael Dyer come up big in Cards win over Pack

Wide receiver DeVante Parker caught 9 passes for 132 yards, and running back Michael Dyer rushed 24 times for 181 yards and a game sealing 46 yard touchdown, as Louisville defeated NC State 30-18. The Cardinals never trailed in the game, although the contest was in doubt most of the time.

UofL sophomore quarterback Will Gardner finished 21 of 36 for 203 yards and two touchdowns. He did not throw an interception but he did miss several open receivers that, if completed, could have put the game away much earlier.

Despite giving up a pair of touchdowns for the first time this month, the Cardinals defense was solid, keeping NC State out of the endzone in the second half when State had a first and goal from the Louisville one.

NC State quarterback Jacoby Brissett was sacked four times, although he did throw a pair of touchdowns. Brissett finished 18 of 32 for 223 yards and two touchdowns.

With the win, UofL improves to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in the ACC while NC State drops to 4-4, 0-4 in conference. The Cardinals now have something of a mini bye week coming up. Louisville’s next game is a week from Thursday when defending National Champion Florida State comes to Papa Johns Cardinals Stadium.
