Highlands Quarterback Beau Hoge scored with 2:30 left in the game…as Highlands rallied from 21 down to beat Owensboro 49-42 in the KHSAA Class 4-A championship. It is the Blue Birds 7th state title in 8 years, and 23rd in school history which for now is the state record. (Trinity has 22 championships and as of this writing had not yet played its Class 6-A game against Dixie Heights.)

Griffin Urlage rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown. Beau Hoge ran for 100 yards, scoring three times, and also threw for 205 yards and 2 more scores. Anthony James was the leading rusher for the Red Devils as he picked up 107 yards on the ground.
