Chris Jones suspended for the Syracuse game

Tonight, Louisville senior guard Chris Jones was suspended for a violation of team rules. No other reason has been given for the punishment. Jones did not travel with the team and will miss Wednesday Night’s game at Syracuse. According to Kenny Klein, UofL’s sports information director, the penalty is just for the one game, at least right now.

Jones had been averaging 13.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists. However a week ago against Pittsburgh, he was benched for much of the second half. After the game, Head Coach Rick Pitino said he did not want to say anything bad about about a player and that Chris Jones did not have a good game.

Here is a piece from January that cn|2 put together on Jones and Pitino.

Look for freshman Quentin Snider or sophomore Anton Gill to replace Jones in the starting lineup. The 12th ranked Cardinals play at Syracuse starting at 7pm on ESPN.
